Smell is the most primal of the senses
Direct to the brain, all the others take a slightly longer route

Anxiety can heighten this sense, designed to warn off danger, particularly with bad smells are recognised where others may not detect, anxiety senses out the details.

It is also fortunate that this same sense slows us down, encouraging lingering when there is an enticing or intriguing scent. Our primal nature likes to stop and smell the roses, redirecting that heightened sense to something pleasurable.

Scent is a form of time travel, it stops time, it folds time, it moves slowly, it is immediate.

It attaches to moments, our brains link the individual pieces as scent knits them together so we make sense of it

This work is an invitation to discover new connections

Playing with expectations using natural/unnatural scents with organic forms
